Comfort Access Not Working

Hi All
Please help. Driving me mad.
Since I have owned my car, the comfort access has never worked. Keyless start always gives me the stupid "key not detected" error.
So far I have:
Used Carly to check CA is activated. Turned off and on several times in Carly just to make sure.
Replaced batteries in both key fobs with brand new duracells.
Tried the key in ignition then out, hold unlock button while pressing the lock button 3 times. Still nothing.

What do I do next please?

Jon

This might be a stupid question, but do you have the three horizontal lines above the key slot on the door handle?
Like in the photo (could only find a LHD passenger side one)

Hi Dave

Yes I do, and not a stupid question. Always worth double checking.
Have the key fobs with batteries. VIN decoder also says CA it is fitted.
I was told that if not fitted then you do not get the "key not detected" error if you try keyless start.
How can I check the key is giving out a radio signal to eliminate key fob failure?

Jon

You need to perform a full error code check, I'd suspect that it's either the main module at fault or at least one of the receivers.

Need ISTA or Bimmergeeeks Protool to do an indepth analysis as AnubisZed stated..

If the door handles fail they can take the rest of the system down..
