Colour match problem

Ok so had a small knock in my rear quater panel due to some idiot hitting it with there door. picked up the car today and i am not to happy with the match. Am i being fussy about this or do i now need the boot and bumper sorting to match? They also done my front bumper witch i sent back as im pretty sure they only tried to get away with just touching it up even though a full respray was agreed. Anyway here is some pic, feeling a little low at the moment.

I would also check what the colour looks like at night under a street light. I had a panel sprayed on a previous car and like you wasn't happy with the match, however the colour really changed and was way off when viewed under night light.
 
Panels should almost always be blended in with surrounding, so if you spray a rear quarter you'd expect to have to spray /blend into the bumper and perhaps even bootlid, etc. depending on age of paint, amount of damage. Without it you'll never get a decent match.

Only exception can be plastic bumpers that sometimes come out a slightly different shade to metal panels, but we're talking minor and again belnding can minimise this.

I'd take it back if you can see a colour difference.
 
The colour match looks awful in the first pic. Can't tell from the 2nd.

Don't be frightened to reject it. I rejected by new rear bumper and side skirt respray twice until I was happy with the finish.

For color match you should drive the car into a garage/parking lot with flourescent lights. From this pics IMHO colour match is pretty good. But you have to be aware that metallic silver is PITA to catch right. Parts should bi painted with the same angle as in factory. Otherwise metallic flakes will fall on the surface differently though giving you different color - lighter/darker. Check the rear quarter from different angles. At some angle quarter will perfectly blend in.

So if you take it back you can, again, get the same result. :cry:
