Colour confusion

I'm looking at buying a 2007 Z coupe but I can't get my head around the colours available and the dealer is useless.

Silver, silver grey, stratos grey, space grey. I've got images off the net of all of them but it's hard to tell which is which with different lighting conditions etc.

Does anyone have a page where each colour Z4 (mainly silver/grey) can be seen easily ?

More searching allowed me to find some decent bmw official pictures which show the difference clearly...

+1. Stratus gray looks nice in the picture posted above but it looks nothing like that in real life. I'm a HUGE fan of gray Z4's, but even I think Strauts Gray looks disgusting in person with a hue of PINK & GREEN.

IMO, Space Gray & Sterling Gray look the best on the Z4. Sterling gray has a very slight hue of bronze. I have Silver Gray; it's similar to Space Gray, but is lighter and lacks the depth and looks more "plastic" compared to Space Gray.
 
I like this grey colour on CJeeper's Z4. It looks nice with red leather seats.

Stratus gray is the hardest one to describe or show in a photo. I originally thought I wanted that one myself but when I saw one in person out in the sunlight I ran away. It is a multilayered metallic paint job that changes hue depending on the angle and intensity of the light. GP20 is right - in some light parts of the car can appear to have a greenish and almost pink sheen to it at the same time other parts are a shade of silver.

Sterling gray is the one I would choose if it had been available for a coupe in the US but that was never an option - just titanium gray and silver gray (like mine).
 
Well now I'm more confused than when I started :lol:

Going to head over to the bigger local dealer at lunch and find some examples of stratus grey. Thanks for the suggestion of monaco blue though - it looks amazing in the photos. A bitch to keep clean though I guess.
