Should be collecting the keys for my new house today! Argh! Nervous and Excited. Unfortunately, the lodger can't move in so will either have to find a new lodger or try going it alone. Does mean the Z purchase is on hold AGAIN :(

You can't drive a house but you can live in a Z4 ,think you've got your priorities wrong

good luck

i can't believe i've been in my house for 3 years now (in december) this month i have all of the hassle of renewing/cancelling all my home insurance, life insurance etc etc

Congrats!

I moved into my first house on monday! Its a very nice feeling having some where that is actually yours (well, the mortgage companies!)

Literally was in it for half an hour before i had to go to work (boring).

But went back after, had a cup of tea and chilled out with a smug look of "this is my kingdom" on my face. Can't wait to actually move in (still "living" at mum and dads until its painted decorated so it's not so much to cover/move) and stay there.

"Mods" planned so far:
Plasterer to skim the ceilings to rid them of artex.
Front garden conversion from crazy concrete to a driveway.
New Carpets/ Wood
Lick of paint

I Think i'll have to pass on the forum house-warming, it's only a 2 bed and currently no furniture. Maybe another house?! haha.

Ahh, the wonder filled, wallet emptying world that is DIY. Have fun, enjoy the new place and get ready to spend a lot of time in the aisles of B&Q buying drills, plasterboard, paint rollers, polyfiller and rawl plugs.
