Collapsed Suspension

6 months ago, my rear right suspension broke and had it replaced. Today, just 2000 miles or so later, it appears to have gone again! Has anyone else had this issue of new springs going after such a short period of time?
 
Yeah I was thinking about that, perhaps I should. Am gutted as I thought the car was ready for an upcoming European road trip, and now the damn thing has gone again!!
 
Make sure you get the right springs.

SE - 3 green paint stripes.

Sport - 3 blue paint stripes.

Mark just get aftermarkets if I were you. two have gone on mine, just hit 50K. I couldn't justify spending money on OEM parts and living in fear of them going again. Mine snapped almost at a 1/3 of the coil height dropping the car, shortly after I'd had my foot planted on a dual carriageway - not worth thinking about what could have happened. Good luck with it.
 
Thanks Adam, I'd wondered what the blue paint dots were.

Tom have you got any recommendations? What brand are you using? My only issue right now is that I need them sorted in like 48 hours, but will probably switch to aftermarket when I'm back.
 
Where abouts are you roughly? I know I have one spring in decent condition that would tie you over - mine was an Si - is yours? replacing the rear spring is so quick an easy. just depends where you are. I stuck eibach springs on as per a lot of people on here. They have improved the ride but sit the car about 1cm lower which may or may not be an issue for you.

Si came in both SE (standard) and Sport (lowered) variants. Take it you mean Sport? :)

Yep sorry Adamski ... I meant the sport. Well Mark if you're struggling and it is going to stop you getting off on the trip let me know, I'm not a million miles away with a spare used spring which I don't want any money for. The rear can be changed on your drive with next to no tools .. An jack/axle stands and a socket set does the job.
