Colin McRae dies in helicopter crash

Apparently his 5 yr old son was on board too... very sad news, he was a great ambassador for motorsports

I live about a mile from Colins home and saw the helicopter flying by just before the crash. I can't say I knew him but had seen him down the pub a few times and his brother Alistair lived just along the road from me for a few years.
He is a great loss to motor sport and was probably a bigger star in Europe than Britain.
That is Britains two world rally campions come to am early end , so sad.

I do remember seeing a few days before his wedding with his wife , my thoughts are with her and the rest of Colins family.

Very great loss to the motoring community. Met him on a few rally meets a few years ago, I used to attend the Scottish meets with a mate of mine who had a tyre business.
