Colchester/Bristol/Colchester round trip on one tank of gas

Some might be interested in this so thought i post it. Had to head down to Bristol for work today. I was planning on taking the train but seeing that the weather forecast for today was good, i decided to drive down instead. Fueled up my 03 3.0 zed this morning so off i went anticipating fuel top up on the way back. Pleasantly surprised you can do 390 miles with full tank of gas. I was averaging 28.5 mpg. Could have done better but couldn't resist gunning it at times and plus i had the roof down on the way back all the way from Bristol back to Colchester. By far the best time i have had driving my zed - 26 degrees, clear blue sky and the roof down for 3 plus hour = driving heaven.

7 mpg left when i got back to Colchester before running out of fuel.

28.5mpg from a full 55 litre tank would only get you 345 miles - so either your OBC is lying, you have an extended range tank, or you forgot to reset the odometer before you set out :P

Don't know if the Z4 is different to the e34s, but they always have a couple of litres left over even when showing 0, as they need some fuel to cool the fuel pump, and avoid sucking crud into it and blocking your filter and/or injectors.

Must have been at least 32.26 mpg to do that mileage from 55 litres :?

Well done getting 390 miles from a tank though

A very well done on getting 390l from one tank! In my 2.5l I've got high 300 before too with mixed driving. Beautiful weather forecast today too! :) :driving:

@srhutch - i should have reset mpg before heading out but didn't occur to me to do it. Only reset the odometer thats it :D
