Coding with 'Carly for BMW' (North West, UK)

I've recently purchased the official Carly for BMW cable (£30) and the Android app (£40).

Quite expensive!

However I've so far coded the following into my ///M

  • Selective unlock
Pressing unlock once unlocks the drivers door, press it again to unlock the passenger door as well

  • Comfort indicators
Indicators flash 3 times instead of once; can be cancelled by pushing in the opposite direction

  • Close roof using key
When the roof is closed I could put it down using the key, but not up; now I can which is useful when putting it back in the garage!

There are other things I'm going to enable, like the automatic door locking above a certain speed etc.

As I spent quite a bit of money on this (and it works on loads of BMWs, not just the ///M) I was thinking it might be fair to offer it out to other people for a small fee (say £5 or £10) to help recoup some of the cost; and save others having to spend the full £70 for this setup.

Does this sound fair? Would anyone be interested (I live in Chester)? Am I even allowed to suggest this on the forum?

I would be interested .
I have the auto lock after driving off also have the one push drivers door lock open .
Will see about the roof
Also interested in auto close windows when
Lock button pushed if that's possible.
And any other bits it can do .
Greg.

Was tempted to get the setup myself but would likely only use it the once so getting someone who already has it to do it for me would be a better option, but I'm in Huddersfield so would be best part of £40 in fuel to do it so just not worth it...

Was actually speaking to my mate about going halves on the kit which would actually work out cheaper...

Maybe you could bring it along to one of the forum run outs will probably be a few people want bits doing assuming it is pretty quick...

Yep I'll bring it along to any meets (there's one in Shropshire this weekend I was thinking it heading to for a nosy).

I was impatient so bought it outright, but figured if anyone was nearby I might as well offer it out (agree not worth it if there's too much distance involved!).

FYI I've got this in the Southwest (cornwall) if anyone down this way wants any coding doing - fairly sure I won't be competing with the OP given our locations! :p

E89 owners it can add folding mirrors to the door locking sequence which is a must have, I did it yesterday amongst a host of other 'nice to have' stuff

Hi,

I was just wondering if you still have this and would be able to code the enhanced Bluetooth to my 320d? It has all the required hardware and I'm only in Northwich?

Thanks,

Ben

Assume it can only add folding mirrors if you have the electronic button on the side to open / close the wing mirrors?

I'm not too far from you - I am looking at a couple of things such as opening / closing the roof when driving and the wing mirrors but not sure that is compatible with my car.

Sorry, meant to stay I wonder if anybody would be interested in sharing the cost in buying one down south, I don't have one already

Yes you very definitely need to have power folding mirrors to code them to the key :)

Hi I have one, it works a treat, although many options seem only attractive to those suffering OCD...

The first OBD interface box was DOA...

The fact I can use it on the wife's Mini is going to be amusing...for me if not for her....

I know there are geeky laptop based solutions, the ease of use with just a phone makes it an amusing toy to play with...

I'll have to see whether I need 4 flashes on my push to indicate or 3 now...

If anybody is in the Borders area and have a play let me know
