Coding app for Bluetooth OBD?

I want to code some things, like the roof opening from my key, or AUX to my radio.

I know that there is Carly, but it's expensive. Is there an alternative for that?
I have iCar Pro bluetooth OBD scanner.

BMW scanner 1.4 is dirt cheap.

BTW AUX is not a programmable thing. once you install a aux plug (that has 300K ohms of resistance) your radio will automatically recognize it.

I take it's a PC dongle, right?

I'm not sure.
I recently bought another radio (because of a different issue I'm facing...) and it has AUX - without connecting anything.
And my previous one, when I tried connecting a BT->AUX dongle didn't show anything.

Whatever you do, don't touch Carly.
I currently have 4 of the scanners after buying the BMW license for this year to code out my lights on the Z and my 320.

None of them are detected by a range of phones (iPhone 10 -16). I've logged countless tickets (20+) with Carly, sent videos and each one is closed automatically.

Also you "waive your rights to a refund" in the T&C. All I've had come back was "we are aware there is an issue with the scanner and are working on it" and an offer for me to purchase a discounted license.

I'm going to try BMW Scanner 1.4 for the Z, but sadly it doesn't work for my 320 and Bimmercode doesn't work for the Z.

Side note, but sad to say this does not seem limited to Carly's OBD2 scanner, or the Carly software itself. I have the same issue with a regular OBD2 dongle and the 'Car Scanner' app on iOS as well. Seems there's something going on with bluetooth / wireless dongles in general with iOS 18+. Tried same on my own phone, someone else's older phone (think an 11 Pro?) as well with same result every single time. Older iPhone did work, where older means one that can't be updated to latest iOS versions.
Luckily I have an older iPad mini laying around with iOS 15 on it, and the exact same dongles and software work just fine there.

The above all being said, this I fully agree with

You have to buy a specific adapter cable (eBay) and it will come with some software for a laptop.

Several threads on the forum that explains how the radio recognizes the AUX port (you don't have to plug a device into the AUX port but you do have to have an AUX port installed in the car before the radio will show that option)

And yet - how can you explain that with the exactly the same setup the black radio shows AUX in the options and the grey one doesn't?
Same car, same plugs, same everything, just different radio.

What BumpyZ4 said isn't incorrect, you've already said there's an audio problem with your car, so that's the answer.

These radio's do not show up the AUX option without an AUX cable installed. When the AUX cable is inserted there is likely a jumper pin that bridges within the radio that then allows you to select AUX in the mode options.

No coding is required.
