Clutch gone in a weird way

Hi Guys

Just had a really weird one with my beloved 2003 3.0 Z. :x

Jumped in the car to pop down the shops started the engine pressed the clutch and wow no resistance the pedal went straight to the floor and I couldn't engage any gear. The pedal slowly rises back to position but can be pressed down with one finger.

So I've had a look on the forum and the wider web and it would appear the Clutch Master or Slave or both Cylinder(s) would be the problem but looking for a steer on that diagnosis. Funny thing is I've not had any clutch slip or even a hint that there was a problem with the clutch, in fact I did 50 miles :driving: yesterday all without a hitch pulled in to the car park last night all good got in this afternoon and bam clutch gone. :(

I did have the CDV (clutch delay valve) removed about two months ago not sure if this could have anything to do with it??? I know it really smoothed out 1st to 2nd changes though.

Any help or advice would be good as I don't even know where to start looking and don't fancy getting a toe truck from the dealers.

Cheers

Jay

UPDATE:

OK I took it down to the local garage this morning, 1st would engage if the engine wasn't started so I got it on to the main road then switched the engine off, changed to second and started it again, had to be careful because it jumps forward, anyway ran the 1/2 mile or so in 2nd and pulled in. Just had an update looks like the slave cylinder is where the fault lies they're just swapping it out and then will confirm.

Cheers

Jay

Common problem with hydraulic clutch systems, hopefully it is just the slave as its alot cheaper then the master :)
