Hello all,
My Z4M required a replacement windscreen. After the usual arguments with my insurer and Autoglass, they agreed to fit an original equipment BMW replacement windscreen.
The Autoglass fitter rocked up yesterday with a pattern seal which we could both immediately see was rippled and did not fit the screen properly when he had it on his stand off the car. They managed to get a BMW seal same day so returned in the afternoon and fitted the new screen.
My old screen was a standard BMW windscreen. I noticed that the new screen did not have a shade band like I would have liked, but on one of it's numerous BMW stickers which are now removed it had the german word "Klimakomfort".
As I understand it the Klimakomfort windscreen has a special infra-red reflective coating. I have looked on realoem and cannot see a klimakomfort windscreen for the Z4M.
Very happy with the job the fitter did but I have a problem in that my Auto headlights are now on all the time, even in sunlight.
I am aware that the light sensor senses infra-red rays to determine light level. My climate comfort windscreen blocks infra red so this would explain why my lights are now on all the time......
There may be a module somewhere which will now need coding.
Anyone know anything about this or know anything about the climate comfort windscreen option on the Z4 at all?
