Ok,

I have just had misgivings about using a clay bar. I will go tomorrow and look for a good one, then on Firday, I will try both and see what happens... Test patches.!!!!! :hattip:

Follow the instructions to the letter. Use a small hunk of it (enough to make a small cigar), if you drop it, through it away. Use plenty of detailing spray or equivalent to create enough lubricity. If it sticks on the car surface you aren't using enough of the spray. Good luck!

Thanks for the links. The autopia link had just the info I needed to allay my fears. PLUS a very nice demonstrator.....

Yo Ducks and Fire-n-Ice, Thanks loads on the clay bar info.

Just got back from doing the Z.

Yesterday, I picked up a Mothers Clay bar and used it today. Yea, there may be better Clay's out there but it WAS Thanksgiving so you have to take what you can get... :)

The clay bar is much easier to use than the paint cleaner. Clayed the whole car in about 30 minutes once I figured out how to really use it.

I even tried the paint cleaner on a clay cleaned section and did not see/feel a difference. I waited till the end to clay the front bumper/fascia. It was so bad I had to throw the clay bar away... It sacrificed it's self for a good cause.

Then I used the polish, then the wax.

Man, does it ever look nice now....

When I got home, the wife came out, looked, then said: Very Good, Much Better. You get a present tonight. Then she Grinned and walk away...

I also discovered that my 10" orbital buffer is just too big for the Z. Have to get a 6" one...

Outstanding Ship! Told you you'd feel the difference, it's quite significant ain't it? Oh and, she'll probably make you wait 'til Christmas! :poke:

Nope, she did not make me wait.

But I am going to hold her to her word about picking up another Z next year.
