Cigarette lighter surround broken Z4M

Hi All,

My cigarette lighter in my Z4M is broken, the actual surround that holds the lighter in place has snapped and has been glued in by a previous owner, have to be super careful with it when pulling accessories out otherwise it just comes with.

Anyway I was driving it yesterday and had my phone plugged in and realised it has stopped working as my phone died on the journey.

I suppose it could be the fuse, is it fuse 5? I want to replace the surround but realised its the whole console with all the buttons attached.

What I wanted to know is the M version different to the normal E85 version? I think the part number is 7037227 but the M has the matte black finish that rubs off. Mine is in good condition otherwise.

Anybody had this issue and any info?

Pretty sure you can change just that section once the panel is out.
Got one in the garage, I'll have a look now and get some pics for you.

Nope, you're right, all part of the main panel, and I only have the grey version, sorry.

I believe the z4m ashtrays are the same as all other facelift Z4s. The unit is held in with pressure (very snug fit) and one screw.

Be careful when reinstalling as it requires some force to push back into place and has to be angled downwards towards the front of the car.

I have had it out before to route a 3.5mm jack cable and it is a tight fit. Probably need to get it out give the wires a wiggle.

Is fuse 5 only for the lighter as the rest of the switch board is fine. I had a quick check and the only M panels I can see on eBay are £550 which is insane.
