Cigarette Lighter always live?

Half Colin has me looking at battery conditioners now, but is there a way I can something like a CTEK MULTI XS 3600 Battery-Charger with cigarette lighter adapter?

Is the lighter always live regardless of ignition? Would be a nice way to keep the battery up to speed over winter.

Easier to charge via the connectors under the bonnet, the lead just exits via a wheel arch and then the car can be completely locked and alarmed. That's what I've been doing for years with my Z3MC.

BTW, Lidl sometimes do a trickle charger/conditioner just like the C-Tek but costing around £15 each. They have a 3 year warranty and I've had a couple of them in use for several years now.

Or just as easy direct to the battery in the boot with the supplied loom which is what I do.

+1 for using the permamently wired lead and plug that comes with the unit, very neat in the boot of the Zed
