very very very sad news to hear of the death of Chris Squire...
(founder member and bass player with progressive rock band YES).
As a musician this is a terrible sad loss to the world of music....
Chris as the ultimate king of the four string wherever you are rest in peace !
 
Always sad to hear news like this, one by one the great musos are inevitably leaving us.

...and as this is primarily a UK website with us Americans chiming in as we can, I am greatly saddened at the loss of Chris Squire. I saw them only a couple years ago in Orlando, Florida for a concert series there. They close down streets in the main part of town and then simply build a stage. It is free. People from the area come and watch great bands play. It is wonderful. WMMO is the radio station that puts all this on. I was there to see YES at that concert.

Anyway, a big loss with the passing of Chris Squire. YES was a group that had so many hits and influences in history, yet today's generation is totally unaware of the massive contribution this group has made to music evolution. God rest ye soul Chris Squire. Feck. :(

Sad to hear, RIP Chris!
I started learning the bass guitar at the same time I started listening to Yes, one of the most inspired bass player...
Will put "Drama" on when back home! :(
 
Chris Squire is a massive influence to me and my playing (i'm a bassist)

He really was the father of the modern bass. Truly saddened by this news.

Yes me too (not that I play, more amateur dabbler), was massively influenced by his Rickenbacker playing (Yes Album, Fragile and CttE especially). Quite an exceptional talent.
