Chipsaway- waste of time!

I've got a 1" scratch on my bonnet from a stone strike, so I thought I'd give Chipsaway a go. Entered my details on their website & got a response telling me that my local service provider would be in touch the next working day. Hadn't heard anything by this lunchtime, so called the number provided. Didn't get an answer (probably busy on a job), but he did return my call soon after. However, to my surprise, once I had described the damage he said that it wasn't worth him quoting for! Not what I was expecting based on what their website promotes!

Guess I'll be going somewhere local in Peterborough!

Not good is it ?

Might be a little scratch this time but a bigger one next - now you'll not use them!

They're all franchises so they vary. I used my local guy a few years ago and he was very good, quote surprised in fact how good the repairs were. Ideal for sending the car back the lease company.

I have only used an Operative who was recommended and he did a fine job, as above, it is a lottery unless you have some prior knowledge of their work
and BMW Dealer workshops are usually excellent and surprisingly within reach pricewise

I'm sure he may think it's worth it for him. But in the long term it will cost him, once the news of a poor responce spreads.

Lots get local companies in to do this sort of thing. You're better off tryig to find out who that company is and deal direct.

My PDR man does BMW and Merc garages near where I live, but charges me a fraction of what I would pay going through them.
