Chipsaway fix my car

My poor car was scratched on the top of her rear wing by a careless garage.

Two nice scratches right through the paint than would not polish out. After a fight with the garage they agreed to repair the car. I was not keen in having the whole panel resprayed so got chipsaway to do the job.
This sort of job cannot be done in the street so I got my neighbour to lend me his garage for a few hours.

The area was sanded down.

Base colour and heated by infra red lamp

Clear coat then heated again. Polished and waxed.

Cost was £168 and the time taken was just over 3 hours which I think was quite good. Very happy with the job

Jobs a good un.

Alas they walked away from the stone chip on my bonnet. Still there staring at me every time I clean the Zed. :(

Have called a few Rob. He was the only one who turned up. Will probably be a full front end re-spray at some point. But Mrs G's (Sorry our) new kitchen, is next on the spending list.

Looks like a decent job, but why did you turn down a panel respray if the garage were going to pay for it? :?

before my Z4 I had an SLK for three years. Never a problem but very rusty. Had a few panels replaced and the paint " blown in " on surrounding panels . It never looked right so I did not want this on the Z4. The full panel respray never looks right especially on 13 year old paint. I would go as far as to say if you are painting one panel you are better to spray the wholw side of the car which is what I ended up doing on my SLK.
