my previous was also an MR2 and i suffered from overflowing bins :roll: Still you have a great looking zed there so enjoy

Overflowing bins... tell me about it lol, that's why i know the value of keeping the drains clean. From what i know, this Zed has had some previous work done on the hood, so i'm guessing the failed motor problem arose at some point during its life. Hoping this was resolved properly.

So many mods you could be thinking about right now!

I've had a good look on here at what others have been up to, and as usual, a members forum is the ideal place for much problem solving too. The only thing i would say, is that i do like the slightly more lowered look. But this is my daily drive, and i have to deal with quite a few speed bumps as a routine - i'd always be worried about scraping something!

I can only imagine the number of people who simply move straight past the Z in their consideration, either because they have a perception it is too expensive, or they think it's a hair dressers car, or they simply don't know anything about it and don't bother finding out... I feel sorry for them

Now before winter hits do two things: Check your sill drains to make sure they're not blocked with crud and with the roof at half-cock (just take your finger off half way up/down) and lubricate all your roof joints with WD40 or similar.
Will save you a World of pain in the long run. :wink:

Please don't use WD40 on hood hinges. It's a water dispersant, not a lubricant so in a short time it dries like tar and gums up joints. Use light oil.

Good to see another former MR2 owner here like myself.
I must say, I bet you £5 if your still here in 12months you'll have done loads to your Z!
I also was happy with mine when I bought it, this forum is bad for your wallet!!

You could be on to something. Hmm, added cruise control would be nice, and it seems this type of age Zed already has the bobs and bits behind the scenes to add these sorts of 'extras'... 8)

Having previously had the 2, i'm no stranger to blocked drains. Already had a long stick down the inside of the hood, just to check for water. Gave it a prod, and freed up a slight blockage. I check regularly, so all seems ok so far. Will defo give it a bit of lube though.

Good point; I tend to use WD to penetrate, then follow up with a PTFE based oil for longevity.
Anything has to be better than no lube; mine were as dry as a bone on my car and it showed when the roof went up.
