Cherished number plates?

I bought a plate when I had my Z4. Put it on it and wasn't organised enough to transfer it off before selling. The car was sold to Ste with the plate, he said i could have it back. It's been on my "to do" list since the start of the year.

Seems like a nice plate to me and I'd have guessed around £500

I have private plates on 2 out of my 3 cars.

What I'm not such a fan of are newer style plates - anything after the 60's I guess.....

Each to their own, but what I really don't like is plates that have been "messed about with", with the odd rivet here and there, or an illegal spacing of the letters. It just looks like the person is trying too hard.

And can be a problem at MOT time as well :)

My pet hate is when they do this but then also get their name or similar printed at the bottom of the plate so you can read what it's supposed to say but they wouldn't pay out to achieve!

In the area I live there are 100s of cars with "messed about number plates", illegal FONTS and/OR blacked out front windows. Seems Lancs. Police are not willing to stop these cars for some reason.
