If you don't ever plan on selling just let them know. Otherwise if they want your house badly just ask for what the local market rate is plus 20%.

I don't think I would sell even +20%. A pal did suggest a 100% loading but as said before, shy bairns get nowt do they? I can see why they would want to buy my place it's the only one of the style and size on the estate but with parking for 6 cars and a good sized south facing back garden. I'd find it difficult to replace with simialar attributes.
I will tell them but I will speak to them face to face. I won't just bung a note thro their letterbox !

they may have opted for a note in the door for several reasons.

your house may not be the only one that got a note for instance. or they didn't want to waste peoples or their own time. it's easy to ignore a doorbell but harder a note. it's also hard to catch everyone when they are at home and when you are free.

i think you have overthought this too much. it's just a note. for all you know they could be the nicest people in the world and you are judging them off this note.

There are only three houses where they want to buy. Mine and two others - we were in the house when the note was delivered. I've checked and we are the only targeted house.
Im not pre judging the people - they most certainly certainly aren't the nicest people and hope their current house becomes increasingly cramped and they find the house of their dreams.
