Check those tyres!

Just had new back tyres on #69. Took a look at the old ones. Near side was down to canvas on the inner edge, offside had life left in it. Hopefully the four wheel alignment will keep the wear matched.

Great service from the little indie that my tyres use locally, they saw the minor thread munge on one of the bolts and recut the thread on both the bolt and hub and torqued up the wheels properly

When I commented, they said "we're engineers not fitters" :)

Anyway, for those near Bristol, R&B vehicle services in Knockdown are worth using. They are a full service workshop not just tyre fitters

That is exactly what you need.

I always get the dealer to fit mine (wheel damage limitation ...) but they hate doing it, as they also say that they are not tyre fitters.

Takes them forever as well, but probably because half the sales department is watching in case the fitter damages anything and therefore incurring my wrath ...

I called up front to confirm that they could do 19 ultra low profile and they were fine with it. I made the point of stating the wheels had been fully refurbished and he came out to check them with me before they went to work. He said that occasionally people bring them in too soon after a refurb and the paint is still too soft.

They regularly do 20" on Range Rovers etc so were happy to do mine. Now to see what these Hankooks are like on a performance car. They've been fine on the S-max but hardly the same profile :D
