Check Control - Fault Code 009CD4

The Check Control warning light appeared on the instrument cluster of my e89. Carly identified the problem was with the Footwell Module, Fault Code 009CD4 - Distrubed communication with driver's side seat belt handover. Unfortunately, Carly is unable to clear the fault.

Replacing and recoding the footwell module will be a relatively expensive repair. I'm wondering if there are any other things that could cause the fault code that I should check before committing to replacing the footwell module?

You should check to see the connectors are properly in place and no corrosion on the pins etc..

What battery state do you have? Fujlly charged?

Did you 'mess with it' in any way before the incident?
 
you can get INPA on your PC in less than an hour and clear the error code, you need the OBD cable though to connect to the PC
