Im looking for the ABSOLUTE CHEAPEST solution to add my ipod to the 2.5 liter beast. But I still want it to have decent sound quality  .

40-50 dollar FM transmitter? I use the Monster Cable one.
Granted you'll have to control song choices via IPOD, but I usually throw my ipod on shuffle and just let it go. Vegas has good enough rock stations that I bounce between em.

IMO the Aux Input is the best and cheapest solution. I paid a little over $30 for the part and installed it myself. Well worth the $30 and 30 minutes installing. Prior to that, I was using an FM transmitter and hated having to change channels frequently. The sound quality is much better on the Aux Input as well.

I had an FM transmitter which you could buy for less than $10, but they don't work well at all. That would be the cheapest but the AUX input is definitely more effective.

I dunno, on the FM transmitters I kinda feel like you get what you paid for. The monster brand one has been good for me. No intereference hardly at all from other stations (this from a radio saturated place like Vegas). About the only time I change channels with mine is when i'm travelling to another city and there happens to be a station on the one i'm using. But switching is easy, and it's not often that of my 3 stations I can't get a clear signal on at least one.

That said, I haven't tried the aux input....bu if it's as easy/cheap as people say I may give it a shot.

I believed the same thing. I paid $120 for my first FM transmitter and $80 for the Monster. I didn't like either, but the Monster was better. Maybe you have less interference out there in Area 51. :D I've recently seen the Monster advertized for $19.99.
