I wonder what is salvageable from this, obviously it couldnt be put back on the road...

That looks very repairable to me. Body panels seem to be available, not cheap mind. Shame.
Cant be much market for salvage Z1 parts though, only a handful of the 8,000 ever built made it to the UK.

Not sure how this U pull it works - I assume even if you buy the whole thing, you cant take it away, just strip it on their premises, and leave the I.D. (chassis frame) with them for 'formal' crushing...

The terms are clear. You aren't getting the car, just the parts. You don't get the chassis and they take the catalytic converter too.

The front of the car looks bent. They don't specify what category the write off is.

I've never been a fan of the Z1. The prices are crazy as is £5k for limited parts.

It must be a Cat B total loss then. Major structural damage where repairs cost more than the value of the vehicle. Cat A have no serviceable parts and must be crushed.

But by all accounts the parts on the Z1 are mostly pretty easy to remove, so given how few there are around and that panels are expensive it might save another Z1.

I always thought they looked great, but aren't that quick. Mind you given what they sell for now they must have some fans!

If you own one and have no thoughts of selling it, it's worth jumping in a van and spending the day taking it apart and chucking it all in the shed 'Just in case'.

This^

Vanishingly small market but so many parts for older cars are becoming NLA with manufacturers, so having spare panels, subframes, bushes etc just to measure up for the purpose of sourcing your own replacements will be invaluable to someone with a z1.

It's already crossed my mind more than once to start hoarding parts for the M, stuff is already starting to become NLA (my more recent search for an oil cooler is an example of this)...

I've got some spare Z4 bits in my garage for just that reason. :D

It probably makes even more sense for a car a bit older and as rare as a Z1.
