Changing kidney Grilles

Hi all-need some advice, was going to change my kidneys when I noticed one of the bottom slots in the bumper had broke-(plastic still attached though)-so do I remove my chrome one and epoxy resin the plastic back together (to make the slot again) so I can fit my all black one, or leave chrome as it is?-just wondering if I do use epoxy resin will it hold as I push the new black tab through it?-thanks
