Changing from runflats

I need to replace my two front tyres, at the moment I have runflats and after reading the threads on the forum I am thinking of going for 'standard' tyres. Problem is that the rears have another approx 4000 miles of life and I am reluctant to change them before I need to. I'm assuming that it not a good idea to run standards on the front and runflats on the rear - am I right?

Loads of threads on this subject so worth a search. My opinion - change the full set for decent tyres, loads of options buy I prefer PS2s. Same tyres all round give the same grip, handling and wear characteristics. The safer option I would suggest.

As AlanJ rightly says, it's technically safer to have the same tyre all round.

But I can confirm that I've had non-rfts on the rear and rfts on the front for about 4k miles now and I've not once had a situation where the differences in grip characteristics have been noticable (and I do tend to "drive" the car as much as I can 8) ).

But this is just MY findings - don't take that to mean you wont get caught out!
