Changing from run flats

A few questions
1. Can I change to normal tyres on just the front axle first?
2. What tyres do people recommend?
3. What tyre inflation kit do we think is good? Presumably I need a little compressor and the tube of paste?

1. Not sure. Think new rubber is best on the rear first to prevent oversteer. In any case, when I changed to non RFT it made a big difference to the ride, so I’d recommend doing all 4, if possible.
2. I went for Goodyear Eagle F1 XL assymetric. Would recommend. Not tried many other brands yet though, so hopefully others with more experience will add. Mr Wilks...?!
3. I have 2 cans of Holts tyre weld & electric pump in the boot. Apparently it can be washed & and the wheel reused if a repair is suitable. Never used it... yet. Would be happier with a space saver E46 17” wheel & jack if I could find a good deal, and was planning a long trip. Don’t get a smaller, cheaper space saver as it won’t clear your brakes.

Ive never had a issue running a mixed axle set of tyres but some say its not to be done ( if you simply drive your car everday use at road speeds i really can't imagine any problem )
What i would consider is changing your rear tyre size to 245 40 18 (if on oe 8j / 8.5j wheels )
As for brands it depends on what you ask of the car & budget , there are so many decent tyres out there ,
Id consider ( in price order)
Kumho
Uniroyal RS3
Vredestein
Continental
Michelin i can't see any disappointment in any of the choices ( for 99% of forum owners :wink: )
