Changes to insurance renewal pricing

I expect some people knew this, but I've just read the Association of British Insurers guide to new rules governing insurance renewals, basically as of Jan 2022 "the price charged by the insurance provider cannot be more expensive than the price that they charge to an equivalent new customer for the equivalent policy". So theoretically there should be no advantage to switching any more and lazy people won't be subsidising 'switchers' like me any more :x

But I'm guessing that the industry will find ways to poach customers.
