Centre Storage - broken hinges! Help...?

Hi,

Looking for some help regarding the removal / replacement of the centre storage cubby door. The other day both hinges (maybe one had already gone and it was just the second that failed?) snapped off and the door would no-longer open close smoothly as it dropped due to the broken hinges, it's effectively no-longer connected.

Tried to remove today but no luck, and the wiring loom for bluetooth / phone cradle is so small it's very fiddly to move to a workable position.

I've removed the screws in the hinge, and removed the small hinge parts that connect(ed) from the door to the centre console surround.

There appears to be a hole on the drivers side, large enough for an allen key, is this how to separate the front / back?

There are 2 clips in the bottom, but i'v levered, and pressed these with no avail. Also cannot see any screws holding the front and back sections together.

Starting to think this is a job for the dealer, but can see the labour costs being stupid! I booked car in for service the other day and whilst there checked with the parts dept and they suggested a replacement door would be c.£60, no idea on labour.

Any help much appreciated....

You can use a credit card to slide down between the phone cradle and panel to release it.

Regarding the panel I think you will have to buy complete.

Breakers yard would be you best bet.

Hi srhutch, thanks for the quick reply. Just braved the cold garage again, and the credit card tip worked a treat! Easy when you know how, 2 second job.

Cheers!
