Centre Console Area

This area is a total waste of space for me with its cup holders.
I'd love to be able to somehow remove these cup holders & have a simple empty space to put my things that currently won't fit.

Is there anyway that they could be removed without physically damaging the area?
I can't be the only one that has had this thought?

Agreed with the side opening doors it’s not even good for cups I drop my house keys or sweets in there

Not without disassembling and replacing the tray, not a job I going to try.

I just keep a torch in there for emergencies and an air freshener that fits the cup holder, I put my sunglasses in the compartment by the steering wheel, even the glove box is limited for space

I never use the cup holder, but if I remove it somehow, I’ll somehow wish I had then.
