Central Locking with Intravee

Hi all

I've been having a bit of a strange problem and I think it's associated with my Intravee. I've had my car for about 3 years now and has the intravee installed for two. I've coded it to auto lock, and unlock on key exit. This has worked brilliantly for ages.

Now occasionally the car will lock fine, but will not unlock with the remote. The key still gives the signal as I can remote open the roof (have the remote roof module). I can unlock the car using the key, but it only unlocks the drivers door. To make things more frustrating, the central locking button will not unlock the doors - major pain if you're with a passenger!

To fix it, I need to untick the intravee locking and unlocking options, drive it to above 10mph, then unlock the doors with the central locking button. I can then re tick the options on intravee and all works happily again.

Strangely - if I untick the options and leave them unticked, the problem still continues.

Anyone had this, or got any ideas?

Thanks in advance!
Prav.

I never did that as I had the car programmed with the locking / unlocking. I assume yours was not done that way and the Intravee is giving conflicting commands?

Perhaps pm RichardP as he maintains the software for it.

You might find its nothing to do with the intravee. Might by the GM5 module relays failing.

This. Exactly this.

Intravee is just talking to the GM5, not recoding or overriding anything, nor talking to the door locking mechanisms directly.

Expect a hefty cost for a new GM5.. or plan for some downtime to rip it out and send it to a fixer..

i know on the intravee it states do not use the lock, if any of the BMW lock settings are used.

Mine before intravee would lock over 10mph roughly (still does), then intravee unlocks on ignition off.

this is from the manual

2.2.4. Auto Lock
Supported on the E38, E39, E46, E53 and Range Rover.
Enable or Disable the auto lock feature.
The Auto lock feature will lock all the doors when the vehicle speed exceeds about 10 mph (15 km/h). If your vehicle is configured with the drive away locking feature enabled then you should NOT use this option.
