central locking/key fob

know you all probably sick of this problem but electrics not my thing.All worked fine when i got the car but started with intermittant not opening doors but boot fine.Today tried both keys and neither worked on the doors but boot still ok.I did notice a while ago the trim from round one side of the rear view mirror was missing found it in the boot and refitted it but cant remember if this coincides with problems starting.Open to any advice as to where to start,cheers
