Center console not opening

Hi,

My centre console won’t open, I’ve managed to open it by using a screwdriver however, for some reason the button isn’t engaging the lever and I just can’t work out why nothing looks to be broken or out of place the button just won’t go back when put up against the lever.
There’s also a little box next to the lever with a white bit sticking out of it which never seems to move circled in yellow, could this be part of the problem?
I’ll attach photos below of the problem, has any one had this problem and know what’s needed to fix it?

Yup. That’s the servo motor that locks the lid so you can secure stuff inside. They tend to fail or at least get stuck.
Bit fiddly to remove the console panel but they can be changed easily enough.
If you can’t revive yours I have some spares.
