Hi, so I got myself a 2004 3.0 Z4 about a week ago and so far loving it, I have been experiencing a little issue though which I thought was just my crapness at changing gear. I've been driving diesels or large v8's for years so am used to lazy revs and low changes so knew it'd take a while to get back into the swing of nice smooth changes on a fairly powerful petrol car. Haven't seem to figured it out though so I googled "Z4 jerky first to second" and low and behold there's numerous threads about CDV valves causing this, it's particularly bad in traffic or economical driving where i'm shifting lower in the revs. I'm kind of glad there's an excuse and it's not my crapness.
Question is, I won't be getting under my car, I just don't do that on cars. Does anyone know a place in the Midlands that can remove the valve, I'm not interested in modifying it unless it can be done cheaply and reliably, there is no warranty on the car anyway. I'd rather get it done somewhere tried and tested than my local garage but will if I have to. I'm near Birmingham but anywhere with a reasonable drive would be ok.
