CDV Removal - Garages In Surrey (near Richmond, Kingston)n

I want to remove my clutch delay valve as it's doing my nut in - can anyone recommend a garage that can remove it for me?

I have been to a few and they didn't even know what one was lol (no reassurance there)

Hopefully someone will know a garage in the Richmond, Kingston, Twickenham
, Weybridge area that I can go to? Rough price for removal would be handy too :)

I wouldn't necessarily expect a garage that isn't a BMW specialist to know what a CDV is. As far as I know no other manufacturer fits the dam things and only a fraction of BMW owners (forum members) know about them and go as far as having them removed.

If I wasn't up for removing it myself I'd probably print out the how to from the forum and take it to a garage that I had used painlessly in the past. It shouldn't take a professional more than 20 minutes to replace so that should give you some idea of costs. £20-30 I would have thought depending on Labour rates. :driving:

Just wondering if anyone has got any other contacts for the removal of my CDV? I have spoken to Keith and he wants around £70-80 to remove the valve (I thought that was expensive)...

Does anyone have any other recommended garages near Richmond, Kingston, Twickenham, Croydon etc...?

£70-80 is expensive, I popped into a local garage and they did it for free, it takes 5 minutes on a ramp.
 
And there I gave you credit you did the work yourself ... :?
 
only places I tried / enquired to either didnt know anything about it ( :o ) tried to talk me out of it or wanted 1 hours labour to do it :(

it really isnt that hard with the right equipment though...
 
Where was the garage where you got it done for free? Anyone any ideas where I can get this mod done - I would do it myself but I don't have the right equipment really!!!!
 
Are there any negatives with removing the CDV?
Obviously BMW fitted it for a reason so what are the implications (either theoretical or real) of removal?

.....just enjoy the improved drive :thumbsup:
 
Anywhere that has a pair of a pliers and a ramp should be able to do this if you print out the How To.
 
I spoke to a few garages this afternoon and yet again some of the them didnt know about the CDV let alone allowing me to use their ramp... Does anyone live in the London area and can recommend a garage that will do this mod?

These are the two I spoke too...

Gilberts for BMW - tried to talk me out of it - said I wouldn't notice the difference so didnt bother (how wrong he was) note wesbite more impressive than their premises - garage behind a shop like a one man band.

West3Ltd - refused to plain remove it said it needed a replacement part to go in it's place, and wanted an hours labour (£59 + VAT) - no VAT if cash...
