CDV removal - Best way to jack the car

Whats the best way to jack the car up to remove the CDV valve?

tried jacking up from the front jack point but dont really trust a Jack on its own whilst im under the car, plus the jack is right where you need to be to remove the valve.

Cant drive it onto ramps as the car is too low at the front, and cant really see any other jacking options.

any ideas?

Raise it up on the jack, and then put an axle stand where you need to. Repeat for the other side if necessary.

Alternatively find someone with a pit/lift :P

If you jack it up on the side rear jack point you should be able to get it up far enough to get an axle stand under the front one.
Can be slightly awkward to work on the valve with the axlestand there but it is a do-able

As a side note, where's the most recommended supplier of the CDV replacement nowadays?

Think it's about time my car had this problem fixed!

there's a place called zeckhausen racing that sells replacement's. But I would just get rid of it personally. I simply removed mine, and connected the clutch line back together.

To jack the car - as Nosa said, use the rear point and you can jack up 1 whole side. then put either a jack stand, or ramps under the wheels once the car is lifted, If you only lift the left side, it should be fairly easy to access the CDV, but lifting both sides will make the job easier.

I did mine recently, jacked front passenger side (uk car) at jacking point and stuck an axle stand under front narrow end of the wishbone, took the wheel off for added room. If you ensure that you have all the required tools and some rag/kitchen roll with you under the car, all will be well.

From a previous post of mine- CDV removed this morning. Pretty easy to do, gaining access is the most aggro.

Made the mistake of not clamping the hose, pissed fluid, requiring a clutch bleed, but easy to do and took 5 mins.

I think it was hotride that suggested loosening the small nut first (it's 11mm), this is definitely the best method.

Cheers
