I’d done this on the 2.2 but was a distant memory
So- decided to do on the 2.5, but couldn’t find a refresher guide
So here it is
Sorry no pics!!
Jack the car up from the front, as high as possible and chock the rear wheels- as you are going right under make double sure you are happy it’s safe!
You’ll need
2x 17mm open spanner
11mm open spanner
7mm open spanner (to bleed)
Bleed kit
Monkey grips or similar clamp
Head under the car from the front- when you arrive at the gearbox you’ll see the set up.
Rubber pipe, going into CDV, into Union, into hard metal pipe that heads to the clutch.
First job- free up all joints first by using opposing force- not direct as you’ll bend the metal pipe.
Once done, clamp the rubber pipe to stop excess fluid loss. Then undo the join between the 11mm and next 17mm.
When that’s undone, unscrew the CDV. Reattach the rubber hose jointed part to the 11mm Union. Secure and tighten.
Find the bleed nipple above the set up and use the self bleeder to get any air out of the hydraulic system. Lock that off and tidy up.
This is the CDV out of its nest.
