Hi,

I pick up my Z4 on Monday and I am incredibly excited.

I'm getting a 2008 model 2.5 Si in black and the car is absolutely beautiful.

The only problem is the Audio system is a standard CD player which frankly is a little bit out of date. I want to replace it but have heard that replacing this unit is quite difficult to do so am looking for suggestions from users. What I need is -

Options for other audio methods (whether that be MP3 cd player, Aux socket for MP3, bluetooth music, etc.)
Sat Nav (dont mind this being separate if it has to be)
Bluetooth phone
DVD player (not necessary but cool lol)

What systems are out there that suit the Z4 and fill all or some of those requirements? The main thing i guess is that it has to look like it belongs in the car and not out of place.

Any help you could give me would be really appreciated!

Welcome to the forum and hope you en joy the new Zed. Search will reveal several audio alternatives cost being the restricting factor.
 
I tried searching but found nothing which is massively helpful. its mostly to do with the actual install of the product not the practicality or visuals

When searching you need more than three letters per word - CD won't return anything, it takes a while to get to know the forum, but you'll get used to how people write things up - I found the above for a search on "Business ipod" and another for "audio upgrade"... hope there's something useful in there.

Also, Newbies section is more for introductions - it's not a probationary holding area :P Stuff like this will get a better response in the General Discussion area as is gets more traffic. There is also an audio section somewhere.

I do know th30d0r3's '06 Coupe ICE Install write up is very good.

Yeah it kinda can but its a pain. You have to make your mp3 cd's in just one folder so the albums are like a string. You cant use individual folders for albums as you usually would. So if you wanted to find a song a few albums down the line it would take forever!
