CD Multichanger is Kaput!

All I did was attempt to switch from disc 4 to 3, an operation I have faultlessly carried out many times since I bought the car in February. The display said this"3-" and nothing happened. I pulled over and pressed the cassette eject button but to no avail. After looking through some posts concerning this problem it seems appropriate to write the thing off and consider myself lucky to have a slot in the front of the player. What I was considering was this. I have now removed the cassette so the hole it has left would be useful for storing CD's and other valuable trinkets. I've also ordered the aux input lead as anything in the changer is in my Iphone. Is there anything I can do to salvage the changer or are my storage ideas the way forward?
Cheers, Andy G

Have you checked the fuse on the back of the changer, you can get to it from the boot, just have to remove some trim.

Cheers davep24 for the advice but the unit still tries to eject the cassette. I've given up with it and I am eagerly awaiting the arrival of my aux input lead.

I had the same problem as AndyG some time ago. I lost contact from the player in the dashboard with the cd’s in the cassette between the seats. And when I tried to eject the cd cassette, it would not come out. After several attempts where I pushed the cassette (hard) in and immediately afterwards tried to eject, the cassette suddenly released from the holder. The cd’s in the cassette was changed to better music, and it has worked fine since 8)
