CD Changer Won't Eject

I've just removed an Autoleads after market iPod adapter so I could use the 6 disc CD changer but I have a problem.

The magazine looks to be stuck in the CD changer and pressing the eject button does nothing.

I've never had the CD changer up and running as when I got the car it had the iPod adapter attached so I'm not 100% it works.

I did pop the CD magazine in the CD changer while it had no power so I didn't lose it.

What can I do???
 
Are you sure it is powered now? When mine was stuck it would still play, just not eject. Perhaps it's totally stuffed that's why alternative arrangements were made by the previous owner?

It isn't uncommon for the magazine to eject unreliably. Press and hold the eject button whilst wriggling the magazine up and down as well as in and out, this used to free mine. I dismantled the magazine and sprayed all the components with Mr Sheen, fixing the problem for a long time. Eventually the drive stopped working altogether. I cannot be bothered to dismantle it to try to fix it...

I know other people have had problems with their CD changers too, and I suspect they are generally of poor quality and cannot tolerate firm suspension on bumpy roads. I'm going to fit an aux cable when I have time.
 
Are you sure it is wired in to the car properly? Not sure about the ipod adapter you mention, but to connect the BMW OEM ipod adapter you have to change the wires around in the head unit connector block that is used for the CD changer, rendering the changer inoperable.

If that's the case with your ipod adapter (I believe most of them work the same way, if it's one that displayed ipod track info on the head unit), you may need to rewire that connector back to the factory configuration to re-enable the changer.
 
I'm not sure if it has power as I can't see any lights that would indicate it is on? I can't tell if it will play as the magazine is stuck in without any CD's in it.

I've tried wiggling it while pressing the button but It's stuck fast.

Can it be poked from the rear and pushed out?

It's really annoyed me as I've just spent the last 2 hours removing the old iPod adaptor so now I only have one CD :(

I'm not sure it wired properly as I'm not sure how to check?

The Autoleads adapter used it's own white CD changer connector and the original was just unplugged. It didn't show track names when playing back.

I've not described that very well I'll take a photo.

So what needs to be plugged in the back of the radio. Mine had the big connector with the white cd changer and black bluetooth connectors and the radio aerial.

Is this it?

Is their any way of checking to see if the CD changer has power going to it?
 
Sound like I might have to see what the dealer says.

I checked the documentation and it says the electrics are covered by the AUC. Can anyone think of a reason why this wouldn't be covered?
