CD changer removal and possibly replace?

Hi all, had my z4 for a bit now and the cd changer has one of its trays locked into position, now is it worth

1. taking the cd changer out, fixing it then just putting it back in
2. taking the cd changer out and replacing it with another brand as iv heard the alpine ones are a bit cack and seem to have this problem alot
3. just leave it in there broken and fit a ipod lead

I hate things being bust on the car but i dont want to try and sort it for it to go break again, especially after seeing how much work it is to take it out!

any advice appreciated

ahh.. if you've seen how much work it is, then you should already know.. but on that basis alone, defo go with 3.

As Andy says above, not worth the hassle, and once they start to play up they only seem to get worse, just get an ipod interface and be done
