CD Changer not working

Had our car for over a year now with no problems. However I bought the car with an Ipod conversion which meant the CD changer was obviously disconnected.

At the time I preferred the CD changer option, and got the dealer to re-connect it.

Unfortunately the Changer doesn't work. I had Dick Lovett check it and they concluded it was dead, suggesting I fit an Ipod conversion!

Anyhow, "dead" doesn't mean a lot to me, so it occurred to me to ask if anyone on the Forum has any experience of these and has any idea if it could likely be something simple to fix?

I have Pro Nav fitted and it just doesn't recognise the changer being connected at all. :(

I would guess it hasn't been reconnected properly, with the Dension ipod interface for example you need to disconnect the changer behind the head unit and at the changer, I'm guessing it's only been reconnected at the changer end.

That's a good point - do you think BMW would have checked that? I'll check it and won't be too happy if they've missed it!

What' the easiest way to get to the rear CD Changer connections?

Cheers mate
