My stereo cut out today with a message something like the above, and a strong burning smell! Sound came back on when I restarted the car, but I'm guessing I've blown a speaker or a fuse?

What's the best way to investigate?

What version of the audio system do you have? 6, 1m or 14 speakers?

Pretty sure it's the top spec speaker system.

Well if there was a burning smell..

Could you ascertain whether the burnt smell is worse in the cabin or in the boot?

Best guess is the main amp in the boot has gone south.. :tumbleweed:

Hmmh..well if no audio and pong in cabin then maybe head unit gone..does the 'functions' work apart from sound?

Time for a code reader..

Speakers don't smoke unless massively overdriven..

The audio came back the next time I started the car. Didn't even think of reading the codes for audio issue.... thank you I'll see what show up.
