Caterham 7 - clutch

My cousin is having a nightmare with clutch in his 7

After a gearbox rebuild (the car was supplied with little or no oil in the box) He has had trouble getting air free hydraulics to the annular slave cylinder.
He tells me that there is not a bleed nipple on the cylinder. Its a Ford box and his local Ford agent were no help and nobody seems to be able to offer a solution to the problem.

If there are any 7 or Westfield owners who have seen or even better found a solution, I would be happy for a point in the right direction.

Thanks in advance

Are you sure there is no bleed nipple ?

I have never heard of that on an internal slave cylinder. Even with a bleed nipple they can be a nightmare to get a decent pedal.

I haven't seen the assembly in the flesh but he swears that there is nothing on the cylinder!
The fella is a qualified engineer (ok mining machinery etc) but have to take his word for it - However in all my time in engineering I have never ever seen such a set up.

A lot of internal bearings are prefilled, but it doesnt stop them getting air in on assembly.

Sometimes there maybe a blanking plug in the bleed nipple section of the bearing,as different applications need different shaped bleeders..

Im grasping at straws really, but does he have any pics ?

Edit...

Maybe the pipe that goes into the slave cylinder should have a nipple in line (Renault/Vauxhall) and with it being a Caterham its had a braided hose fitted??

I haven't seen the assy but I'm going to go and see it soon.

I still feel that there must be a nipple hidden somewhere or other.

On some Renaults the bearing itself has one inlet,an extension piece fits into the inlet to clear the bellhousing.

Then a steel pipe with a bleed nipple built in inserts into the extension..

Maybe something like that set up ?
