Carpuride touchscreen

Does anyone have any experience of Carpuride systems? They seem good value and having the DSP system it would be a simple solution as it would connect via my Bluetooth adapter.

I have the pop up nav screen so thinking of mounting it in front of that. Or… fabricating a bracket to slip in above the central air vents.

For £160ish I would have a nice size screen with apple car play.

I have it on my DD Audi A3. I also have a similar waterproof one for the bike. The Carpuride does pretty much as it says on the tin. Works well as an apple carplay system.
The problem I have is the pop up screen in the Audi. It has to be in the raised position to be powered on, it has to be powered on to connect to the Carpuride unit either via BT or FM to get the Carpuride unit to play through the car speakers.

At the moment I am struggling with a mounting point to allow this, meaning I am having to use the speaker on the Carpuride unit for sound. Quite frankly it is rubbish, poor quality for music and barely adequate for phone calls though to be fair my hearing is poor.

Fine for sat nav and works seamlessly with Siri for dictating messages etc.

I've been looking at something very similar on amazon, haven't pulled the trigger yet though

bellunone, I wouldn't imagine the steering controls would work with either option.

Problem with the cheap ones is poor audio out what's this like? I suppose the DSP is pretty rubbish anyway so not that it will matter much. I have a Denison gateway gw100 in my Z4M which I have a bluetooth adapter attached to the iPod connector and works pretty well as an audio solution but would love CarPlay.

Also have the sat nav unit so following along. There was another thread recently about a tom tom that was exactly the same size as the oe screen and works as a replacement but no car play unfortunately.

No carplay, but works brilliantly and maintains the OEM look.

I don't have the sat nav in - but that looks a bit labour intensive!

I'm also looking at a single din Sony touchscreen (adjustable screen position), I don't want something in front of the vents though, I have plenty of other jobs to do first.

I have also seen the bluemusic dongle which plugs into the 6 cd changer cables, easy option just for music, and for £35 might do me for now.
CD changer doesn't currently work, so not 100% the cables are all good.
