Carnauba wax

As a non-native non-millennial I admit I've some degree of difficulty following all the nuances of these discussions, but I look through the pictures -- jock156's photo looks great!

Ditto.

In plain terms:

Old Pondrew cannot read the label as he does not idenitify himself as a woman and is not in Scotland so he can't anyway, but as he is as impatient as a millennial and does not bring his work knowledge home, he is slapping wax on a wet car in freezing rainy conditions and as he is an old man, it took him an hour to get rid of that drop of wax.

So for the doubters, this is the results of my first foray into waxing a car (no it's not the Z4, that's white and I see little point).
Also note the new lighting in my 'studio'. Β£36 for four 20 watt floodlights from Screwfix and a couple of hours work. :D

Happy with the result?

That is another way of saying - β€œwe think it is terrible”

I see you still got the black wheels then :poke:

OK so it doesn't look great in the pictures. Cold garage and a bit of condensation around (and I'm crap with a camera). Looks better in the flesh, honest! :D

I'll give another go when the weather warms up a bit; but it's a start.

I was wondering why he'd waxed a matt finish car :)
[/quote]I thought I was the only one thinking that.

Is there such a thing as a Matt finish wax?

BMW calls it β€œFrozen”. In Pondy’s world that means that you take a grey car and put on frozen wax :P

I still use the original Simoniz wax in the gold tin, it's not the easiest stuff to use and takes a fair bit of elbow grease or a DA, but it still gives some of the best results I've seen

Pondy has moved on to 'Mr Sheen'. :P

I just re-read this thread, as it's an old one. Made me chuckle! :D
And yes I still have the tub of carnauba wax, but don't have the 'matt' grey F33 anymore. That was one special motor. Probably the highest spec 440i in the Country (even if I couldn't clean it properly).
