Carly coding for roof

Can you close your roof remotely by coding with Carly?

I would have thought it was a simple question. But I have asked Carly and they will not give a straight answer.

From their specification they talk about "comfort opening and closing" is possible. We know that opening the roof is possible from the keyfob but is closing possible by coding ?

So has anyone got Carly and can you code the roof to close remotely?

Kind regards

I have also managed this with Carly on my pre facelift, as have a number of others using the comfort closing feature. Despite it not supposed to being possible on the earlier cars. Your post car should definitely be doable

Yep. Mine would already put the roof down (seperate to the gaptech its got) by pressing/holding the key and when I activated this in Carly the roof now goes up pressing/holding the key. Only thing is you do have to press it for a second time to get the windows to go up though

Top. Have to give that a go tomoz then

Can you do all this with the Carly lite version, or do you need the premium?

Also do you need the physical cable or does the Bluetooth adapter work (IBD)?

u need the full fat paid-for version to code stuff in carly.
I use the carly wifi dongle through iOS and it works a treat.
Alsl handy for some live parameter monitoring too

Daft question, but do you need to leave the Carly dongle attached?

Make sure u read instructions on the site carefully. Turning off ignition or accidentally removing the dongle, esp during a coding can brick ur dme!

With the car off and key out of ignition insert the dongle. Key in, position 2 and u can now communicate with the car using carly after connecting via bt or wifi.

I tested out the roof open/close yesterday and can confirm it works perfectly. I just keep finger on remote button to open/close. Doesnt need 2 presses as was mentioned ealier, at least not for me.

 Cheers Chris, will do some more research - as can also use it for my JCW it would appear....seems I can turn active sound either off, or M5/6 which is the part in the Mini I'm most interested in researching if it actually works!
