Hi all,

I have my Carly adapter for sale. I used it in my E89 2011 model. The adaptor is 2nd generation. Pic attached. £45 which includes P&P. I use an iPhone to connect to it. Any questions, feel free to ask.
Cheers.
Andy.

Hi Andy, where are you located? I'm thinking of getting the Carly app but don't know too much about it at the moment.

Hi Simon,

I live in Balsham, approximately 30 mins south east of Cambridge.

If you’ve any questions, I’m happy to help.

I was really interested in this, but I just did a bit of research and found out that the full version of the app is subscription based and you have to pay 55 quid a year... Is that true?

I hate software subscriptions - they're like protection rackets!!

Yup! Carly USED to offer a Pro version/upgrade that was about £55 - £60 "for life" ... they recently changed their pricing model to subscription based. They offered existing customers "lifetime" activation of the new version, however all new users only have the option of £55 per year.

I've voiced my opinion a few times I think in numerous places, as good as Carly is, they're taking the p*** I think with their pricing. £55 hardware, then £55 a year for the app that 98% of the users probably use twice in a year lol.

Even more annoying is their apps are specifically coded to work with their adapters and not the cheaper generics (their schpeel about inferior devices is neither here nor there, their app was built to look for and only work with their devices -- and yes, I did reverse engineer their app some time ago  )
