Carbon corner splitter thoughts?

Don't worry about it jonny unfortunately alway people wanting to piss on your parade. Just ignore it and continue

In respects to the splitter, although they can look a little racey I like the body carbon strip not sure what they're called but sure one forumer think it is Z4M_CSL has them like the F40 LM edition ;) Although these very noticeable you can do them so they are very discrete.

I think Z4M_CSL did the mod then removed it after forum discussion. But he does have the front carbon splitter and carbon additions to the sills.

Wow, another thread turned into a playground slanging match, wonderful!

I try to stay at arm's length from this sort of thing, as I've seen other forums go downhill fast once mods/admins start to play God, but there seems to be a bit of a trend going on in recent weeks that I feel we need to slow down.

There are a few things that stand out from this thread:

- Jonny asked for an opinion of a mod that would obviously invite mixed responses.
- Some people decided to criticise him and his car. I hate the word "troll", but it's quite clear some people are just on here to bait people into an argument.
- Jonny doesn't help himself with his responses (at all).

People must realise that the E85 is old now... it has become very affordable and the average age of ownership is a lot younger. With that comes more and more people wanting to mod their cars in some way, some subtly and some errr, not so subtly (Marmite anyone?). This modding is not for everyone but it is part of what this community does. Criticism and debate over what works and what doesn't is good, everyone likes that, but what is not good is people making personal comments or making statements that add nothing at all to the thread.

I am going to "tweak" (mod, if you will ;) ) the forum rules and see if we can turn back the trend of negativity a little, as this forum generally has a great atmosphere about it and we want that to continue (hopefully without too much mod intervention).

That said, Jonny, please tone down your language (along with a few others). As part of the new rules those sort of responses will not be tolerated. Think of it like a rugby match, just because the other guy hit first doesn't mean you don't have any responsibility.

Well said

Although i secretly enjoy Jonny's post the most.. as they will eventually end up in some form of controversy :fuelfire:

Lol from E-bay mate, gonna leave them tho as not quite for me after thinking about it.
May do some hydro dipping in the cabin on certain parts but the door handles are the only thing i cant change from silver without taking the doors apart, why did BMW put loads of cheap silver plastics in the cabin.....door handles, grab handles, the ring and needles in the binnical and the two coverings, the steering wheel spokes ohhh and the roll bar covers :headbang:

there is lots of silver ... i think it suits my car colours with the light leather, ali dash and merlot paint as its all light so compliments but i could see how in darker colours it could clash. hadn't noticed the roll bar covers being silver but then we own bmw's so who need to look behind them? :D

your making me think now... ill have to go and look at whats silver as i think the handel to open are grey for me ....??? hmm
