Carbon badges

Hi guys - newbie here.
I recently purchased a black 06 Z4M roadster. Best thing I ever did!
As its black on black, I'm considering changing the standard boot, bonnet, hubcap badges etc to carbon .
I can find all these on E Bay etc depending on my taste and budget.
But one thing I cannot find anywhere are carbon versions of the side repeater badges. Has anyone here attempted to replace those? As its a complete unit, I'm guessing no-one manufactures it, but what size is the BMW badge on the side reflectors? Is it the same as the bonnet?

If I go ahead and do te upgrade, it seems a shame not to do those.
Any thoughts?

And I thought as a newbie I think it's my duty to share some photos.
These are incredibly rare down here - only 96 roadsters only ever imported-who knows how many left.
Prices are getting stratospheric - I think I got in at the right time

Welcome to the forum.
Why not buy carbon decals for the side repeaters:

Great pics btw

Welcome houtie.
They must be available somewhere as the coupe I bought in November came with them all replaced including the one on the steering wheel.
But I'm sorry I can't help further in sourcing them.
Andy

I think the side repeater badges are the same size as the boot lid badge (82mm?).
So you can use them but just cut the prongs off the back of it first and stick with some very strong double sided tape.
I have not done it yet but intend to as my existing badges have a couple of marks on them.

Hi and welcome, nice car, just out of interest is that Chapmans peak in the photo :D
No not Chapman's Peak -that's a view from the top of Clarence Drive between Gordon's Bay and Rooi Els, east of Somerset West

Of course you can get them and from Ebay. Invest in decent gel badges and they will last. Mine have been on for 5 or 6 years and are unmarked

Still looks very nice, spent 3 weeks driving around the Cape last November

I'm going to do the same, just yesterday I ordered x2 carbon ones at 82mm from ebay for the side indicators. Also going to cut the repeater down, mod brought to my attention by a few other posts/threads.

I don't think they were gel type! :headbang: Will have to see how far these get me!

I would avoid decals or cheap as they will deteriorate quickly and do the job right. They are so visible that you need quality badges to look right

I'm sure you're aware the bonnet badge is an odd size, but you can dremmel the back of the badge to fit perfectly

!

I am tempted to do the same having seen LukeMace do it on his car mod thread but not sure if it's too much work for such a small tweak to the visual? I would probably tint mine at the same time to make them look less orange. Although I wonder if doing both would limit how useful they are as an indicator then.

Phil do you mean dremmel the outer edge? So the circumference? Or perhaps you're referring to the 2 locating pins on the back? I have noted the different size but not got as far as trying to fit yet. Thanks in advance!

Nah, no such thing!

Think you are right. Roll on the summer- the mod list keeps getting longer: door speakers, puddle lights, new 107 wheels and tyres, x3 radio knob, royal steering wheel, and now thin side indicators

Dremmel out the back of the badge due to the shape of the bonnet metal pressing.
Once you undo the nuts and remove the badge you'll see the shape
